After two successful years in Barcelona, the final stage of the LEN Champions League will move to Budapest for the next two seasons and the Hungarians seem to have already taken their decisions, regarding the teams which will have the privilege to host the 2015/16 and the 2016/17 “Final Six”.

WaterPoloLive understands that there will be two different hosts for the two editions of the LEN Champions League “Final Six” which will held in the Hungarian capital: Eger will play host next season and has secured participation in the final stage of the tournament, while Szolnok has been chosen to qualify directly to the 2016/17 “Final Six”.

Both teams represented Hungary in this year’s finals, at Barcelona, but had to settle for 5th and 6th place respectively. A couple of weeks earlier, Szolnok had won the Magyar League for the first time in 50 years, thus succeeding previous seasons’ winner Eger, which finished 3rd this time.

The 2016 “Final Six” is scheduled to be hosted in the famous “Alfred Hajos” sports pool, in Margarer Island, while the 2017 edition is planned to become the opening act for the ultra-modern aquatic center which is under construction in Budapest and will serve as home to the FINA World Championships, as well:
